Never stop her

Camilla Moroni

Camilla Moroni was born to climb. Raised in Liguria by parents who themselves are avid climbers, it was never going to be any other way. And since her first visit to the local crag as a one-month-old baby, climbing has been a key part of Camilla’s life.

As a sport climber, she’s already achieved success on the global stage.
But for Camilla, the close-knit community around climbing is every bit as important as the sport itself.

From her earliest memories of local boulder spots and climbing gyms,
she has always felt welcome.

“I have been climbing since I can remember so I feel completely at home within in the community.”

Climb your own way

One of Camilla’s favourite things about climbing is that there is no right and wrong way, only your way. “Men and women can send the same boulder, but each will do so in their own way,” she explains.“There are always multiple ways of dealing with the same challenge and in this way, climbing is perfect metaphor for life.”

Anxiety into positivity

Now an experienced competition climber, Camilla has learnt how to cope with pressure. But it’s not easy. “I’m able to transform my anxiety into positive tension. In the future, I want to share these experiences I’ve had with younger girls getting into climbing as I know the pressure can put some people off competition.”

As a sport climber, she’s already achieved success on the global stage.
But for Camilla, the close-knit community around climbing is every bit as important as the sport itself.

“When I train together with the boys, I like the healthy competition. We encourage each other to give our best, even in training.”
